Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) technologies

Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machine

CNC stands for Computer Numerically Controlled and is a technology that was developed in the 1950s in the United States for the US Air Force by metalworking machine tool builders. It was a major advance in the ability of machines to faithfully reproduce complex part machining steps more accurately without human error or intervention.

CNC always refers to how a machine operates its basic method of controlling movement. In other words, a CNC machine uses a stream of digital signals from a computer to move motors and other positioning systems in order to guide a spindle over raw material.

The main benefit for using CNC technology for us is that is ensures accuracy on all bespoke staircases and excellent finishing. All our work is carried out by our highly skilled craftsmen, using the latest technology and years of experience to provide you with a finished result you can be really proud of.
